You might also check with both Mayflower and North American van lines. Although they're most commonly known for moving households, we've used them a couple times for one off items that need better handling than common freight. The rates were not that bad.

Also look into www.uship.com thats a website set up something like ebay, except it's just for moving things and even people. You place an ad (free) describing the "move" that you need including the point of origin, destination, size and weight of the item, handling requirements, and time frame if applicable, and your target price for the move.

Then folks place bids on the move, it's up to you to accept or decline the offers you receive. The bidders/movers have a feedback profile similar to ebay that will give good insight as to each bidders performance.

I've moved a vehicle, a piano, some klipsch belles, and a couple other items that i couldn't depend on the seller to crate and freight.

Pretty much freight, freight, and freight.

It's too big for UPS or regular Fedex Ground.

Investigate terminal to terminal- where the shipper drops it at the terminal at his end, you pick up at the terminal at your end.

If you have friends who ship big packages, ask who they use, They might be able to get you a favor. Or a company that you do business with that gets big packages...

Get all the quotes you can, some companies are a LOT cheaper than others.

    Thanks to all...
I will look at all these suggestions, the obvious choice of a moving company sounds the best since they handle furniture every day.. Also usually point to point(few if any transfers from truck to truck)...
